About
Room307 is the solo project of Hong Kong singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer Allex Chan. His self-produced, self-titled debut EP, Room307 (2018), gained early recognition for its nostalgic lo-fi textures and broad dream-pop arrangements.
His debut full-length, MEMORY BOY, brings an analog touch to Latin, soul, and electronic textures, with mastering by Kuo-Hung Tseng of Sunset Rollercoaster.
Allex’s musical footprint extends across diverse creative landscapes. He is a multi-instrumentalist - bass, synthesizers, and programming - for the Hong Kong post-punk band N.Y.P.D. (南洋派對).
His original score for the animated short film Monsoon Blue was recognized with Best Animated Short Film at the 60th Golden Horse Awards.
From solo bedroom producer to commanding live performer, Room307 has developed stage arrangements that draw from jazz and psychedelic rock for festival-sized rooms.
He has opened for The Marías and Sunset Rollercoaster, sold out headline shows at PORTAL in Hong Kong and SUB LIVE in Taipei, and performed at Clockenflap, Boiler Room, M+, and Taiwan’s Golden Indie Music Awards showcase.
